Yes, it is recommended to be worn on the wrist.  However, it can be worn on the ankle as well but it will be an advantage for visual communication if worn on the wrist.

6. What are the other advantages of myWanderLoop band?

In an unfortunate situation, a passerby can help either by calling the emergency number printed on the band or reading the QR code.   He/She can take immediate action based on the details displayed.

7. How does the QR code know the data of the Senior citizen?

Anyone who is computer literate can visit our website https://.mywanderloop.com and sign-up.  Once sign-up is done, he/she can fill up the details of the Senior citizen (or we call Band User).  All basic information about the Senior citizen, Emergency contact information, Hospitalisation details and in the past Wandered off details are keyed in.  Once this form is filled up, payment made and submitted, a QR code is generated which is printed on the band.  This is how data is available on the QR code.

8. Can a Senior citizen get the Band free?

The price of the Band plus the service comes as a subscription.  The subscription for one year is Rs.599 plus GST.  It can be renewed every year.   We have kept the Band and service very pocket friendly.

The payment is to be done online through a reputed Payment gateway – RazorPay which is popular in India.  Unfortunately, Cash on Delivery is not possible.

No. These are available only through https://mywanderloop.com

11. My son and daughter stay outside India and I am not that computer savvy. How can I procure a Band?

Anyone, your friend or relative or neighbour can buy a Band for you.  Your son and daughter can also buy the Band from wherever they are based currently.  They can register themselves on the website https://mywanderloop.com and fill up the form on your behalf and order the Band.

The Band will be delivered at the Band User’s address provided by the Guardian at the time of filling up the form during registration.

13. If my son and daughter are staying outside how can they be contacted in times of an emergency on the road.

While filling up the form, they can provide two emergency contact numbers in your city (for eg. your neighbour, friend etc).  In case of an emergency, the first responder on scanning the band will get to know the emergency contact numbers which would have been provided at the time of filling up the form.

14. Is the form filling on the website too cumbersome and difficult?  What kind of details are being requested for?

No, not at all.  It is one time exercise. We have made it as friendly as possible and are requesting for only relevant information that is required during an emergency.   Details like your Blood group, your current photograph, address, emergency contact numbers and emails, medical information like hospital and previous hospitalisation details, emergency medication, wandered off details (in case of Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients).  All these details will help during an emergency situation.

15. What is your verification process so that only genuine citizens register for your services?

We are verifying a Senior Citizen through paperless offline Aadhar verification process which is allowed as per UIDAI website.  It is a simple process defined on the Aadhar website https://resident.uidai.gov.in/offline-kyc.  We verify the details through this process which is safe and secured.

16. How safe will my data be?

We are hosting the website on Amazon Web Services with all the required safety and security measures as per Industry standard.

17. What details will be displayed in the QR code? How can one scan QR code?

If you are in distress, any passerby with a camera enabled smartphone can scan the QR code.  To ensure both parties safety, there will be an OTP sent to the person reading the QR code.  Once he enters the OTP, details about your name, address, blood group, emergency contact number, hospital details will be displayed.  Being the first responder during an emergency, he is now in a position to take the right decision, either to call the emergency number first or take you to hospital.

18. What if a passerby doesn’t have a smartphone? How can he help?

We have thought of this scenario too.  If the passerby does not have a smartphone, he can simply dial the emergency contact number on the band and inform the person about your emergency.  Alternatively, he can access your information by visiting www.mwloop.com and keying in the UID number which is a Unique number assigned to you by our system during your registration.

19. I am in Pune, India.  My son lives in San Francisco.  He will be subscribing for the Band for me.  In case of any emergency, or if anyone reads my QR code, will there be any alert mechanism to him.

Yes. If he has registered your name on our system through the login process, he is called the Guardian.  If someone scans your QR code, he as a Guardian will be alerted on his email id.

20. My son lives abroad . Does the QR code show the GPS location of the person who is reading the QR code?

Yes.  The system tracks the GPS location of the person who is reading the QR code and sends an SMS and Email notification to the primary Emergency contact person, email to the secondary Emergency contact person and an email to the Guardian.

21. What is the size of the band? Will it be a very heavy band? Can I always wear it?

The size of the band is regular adult size for easy wear.

Its circumference is 200mm and width 18mm.

Weight is negligible.

23. Is there a specific way to dispose off the Band?

Please cut it up into a few pieces, making sure to cut across the QR code printed area and dispose off into the dry waste bin where you normally throw your plastics as these are recyclable.

24. Who generates the QR code and Unique ID number?
